ELS is hiring for the position of Campground Maintenance Supervisor in Wilmington, Ohio.
What you’ll do:
The Maintenance Supervisor performs maintenance duties requiring technical labor skills, including plumbing, light carpentry, and swimming pool maintenance. The Maintenance Supervisor will drive a tractor to maintain roads and operate a honey wagon to pump out camper holding tanks. The Maintenance Supervisor will work with the Property Manager to ensure that the campground meets the company’s quality maintenance standards.
Your job will include:
Perform various preventative maintenance functions and record findings in a maintenance log.
Review and complete work orders in a timely manner.
Conduct regular property inspections.
Clean and open swimming pools for the season. Winterize pools at the end of season. Ensure the swimming pools are operating according to Ohio Health Department guidelines. Maintain swimming pool equipment and perform daily chemical testing and balancing.
Monitor the maintenance and upkeep of all community mechanical equipment, including water heaters and HVAC units in common buildings and company vehicles.
Winterize campground buildings and campsites at end of season and Dewinterize at start of season.
Operate a tractor to move picnic tables, grade roads, and move gravel.
Operate a honey wagon to pump out camper holding tanks.
Operate within your team’s approved budget and make decisions with respect to the allocation of funds within the maintenance department.
Communicate regularly and professionally with management and staff.
Respond to guest concerns with respect and courtesy.
Attend and participate in training programs as requested.
Assist with and attend community-sponsored activities and functions.
Help monitor capital improvement projects including obtaining bids from vendors.
Monitor electrical, groundskeeper, and waste water treatment plant operations and communicate with vendors.
Assist management with special maintenance projects.
Perform on-call emergency services as required.
Represent the community in a professional manner.
Experience & skills you bring:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ years of direct technical work experience in applicable areas, including plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, etc.
Previous supervisory experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with heavy equipment.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record and current auto insurance.
Willing to be on call for emergencies that arise after hours.
Willing to work weekends and holidays April through October.
