Data Center Expense Advisor
Job Summary
Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team are responsible for providing financial support to the Operations leaders on all financial aspects of the site teams. Working in a collaborative team, the Expense Advisor will support the team in forecasting, budgeting, reporting, analysis and business partnering.
The team prides itself on delivering high quality, relevant, timely and accurate financial and non-financial information to enable key decision making and strategic direction.
The role is based at Mascot and offers hybrid working, onsite gym and kitchen with close transport links and onsite parking available.
Responsibilities
Procure to Pay Process
Creates Purchase Requisitions for the country/region expenses
Monitors purchase order quality and provides KPI reporting in order to improve process
Works with requestors to make sure POs receipted correctly and timely
Updates commitment values vs. POs &, working with Ops Finance/General Ledger, assesses what commitments have not been made vs. budget
Ensures compliance of Purchase Requests (5 W’s), all required contracts/legal approvals, accounting codes and competitive bids
Contacts vendor for invoices where necessary
Solves billing/invoice problems related to the country/region expenses
Budget Management
Coordinates and consolidates budget and forecast inputs from Data Center Operations teams, undertakes ad hoc analysis to help drive forecast adjustments
Reporting
Responsible for running and providing commitment tracking reporting to Data Center teams, supporting Ops finance on month end reporting, variance commentary, and supporting the accrual process
Generate KPI reporting around Ops tasks completion and accuracy (such as receipting)
Business Relationships
Key touch point for Ops team on finance admin related queries
Supports vendors as key point of contact for query resolution management working closely with Accounts Payable team
Works to support Ops finance on budget, forecast and month end deliverables
Acts as the link between the business and finance to meet commitments
Train new staff or refreshers of existing staff on Equinix Policies and Finance definitions
Financial Problem Solving
Solves routine problems
Investigates actual vs. forecast variances
Assists in month end accrual process
Provides analysis and performs simple ad hoc duties as required
Provides recommendations for process improvement/efficiency gains
Qualifications, skills and attributes:
Strong analytical, financial and accounting understanding
Excel, PowerBI or Coupa experience will be highly regarded
Ability to work well in a team environment and engage in all onboarding and training activities
