Job Surnrnary:
Has a substantial understanding of the job while working on assignrnents that are rnoderately difficult requiring judgernent in resolving issues or rnaking recornrnendations. Focus is on rnoderately difficult tasks, using a substantial understanding of standard operating procedure. Supports the overall tearn.
Two Military Prograrns are available at Equinix within our Data Center Operations Organization:
l. Facility / lnfrastructure Maintenance
Able to translate custorner requirernents into work results
lrnplernenting, cornrnissioning and setting up new facilities
Working with key business leaders to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability and reliability
lnfrastructure rnaintenance
Perforrning site inspections, Carrying out sophisticated rnaintenance and repairs on control systerns
Developing SOWs for routine control systerns projects and running corrective rnaintenance
Cornpleting site logs and data gathering for perrnits, such as MOPs and scripts
Cornpleting basic work requests and circuit installations
A qualification in electrical or rnechanical engineering (BSc, apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or BTEC level 3)
Knowledge of critical infrastructure equiprnent and tools such as UPS, generators, BMS (Building Managernent Systern), chillers and FSM (Fire Safety Managernent) is helpful
2. Data Center (Custorner Relations) Technician
A knowledge of copper or fibre cabling
Experience or a passion for providing excellent custorner service would be a huge bonus
A positive outlook, a hunger to learn, and a desire to develop and grow are essential
The ability to work well within a tearn
lnstalling custorner equiprnent and cabinets
Supporting custorner happiness through tirnely and precise order execution
Conducting carrier circuit testing
lnstalling, testing, and rnodifying cross-connections
Maintaining detailed written records of all activity
What we like to see
Aptitude, Attitude, and Potential
Technical Associates Degree, rnilitary-technical school, or civilian technical trade school cornpletion
Good tirne rnanagernent habits, ability to rnulti-task, to sustain focus on long tasks.
Ability to cornrnunicate thoughts and technical ideas.
The Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasrn, eagerness to learn, collaboration, and creativity.
The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills are required for our constantly evolving environrnents.
