The Data Science team is committed to disseminating insights, information, and data-driven solutions across the organization. We work with intricate data pipelines, extensive macroeconomic and market-based data sets, as well as our exclusive in-house data. As a senior analyst, you will support the design, development, implementation, and support of robust data solutions to meet our diverse analytical and reporting needs. This role involves collaborating closely with data scientists, data engineers, business analysts, and operations stakeholders. You will assist in defining analytics requirements, developing success metrics, and serving as a technical resource in research and analysis. You will contribute to various analytics projects, leveraging both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to drive success across the company.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Support strategic initiatives that leverage the organization’s proprietary data assets and advanced analytics capabilities.
Actively contribute to cross-functional technology teams to generate unique insights across all business areas.
Engage in Research & Development initiatives to refine existing models and analyses and develop new success metrics using advanced analytical methods.
Collaborate with the Data Platform team to design data workflows and visualizations that enhance the value of the company’s extensive proprietary data resources.
Support operational data metrics, models, and calculations that provide meaningful insights for various department heads and senior leaders.
Assist in delivering and enhancing formal Quarterly Operations Earnings packages for Senior Leadership in preparation for public earnings calls.
Promote data-driven decision-making processes.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Economics (Econometrics), Engineering, or related field from a four-year college or university is required.
1 to 3 years of experience in a data analysis role with exposure to research and analytics projects.
Experience in conducting research and analysis using Python. R is a plus.
Proficiency in data modeling, querying, and analysis with SQL.
Experience with BI data visualization tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
Advanced presentation skills and the ability to translate complex data into understandable insights and recommendations for non-technical stakeholders.
A strong commitment to continually improving knowledge and understanding of the industry’s best practices in data research and analytics techniques.
Be highly detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong integrity and professionalism, self-motivated, and must demonstrate a high level of curiosity.
Familiarity with statistical and machine learning methods and predictive analytics is preferred.
Experience in real estate or related industries is preferred.
WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:
Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.
Operates in a fast-paced work setting. Requires the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities. May involve tight deadlines and high-energy work situations.
Requires the ability to work Mondays through Fridays with in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, located at Essex’s corporate offices in Irvine, Woodland Hills, San Mateo, and Bellevue.
Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.
Minimal travel may be required for occasional meetings, training, or conferences.

The salary range for this position is $88,000.00 – $132,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $88,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
