Senior Manager (Engineering &arnp; Technical), Data Center Operations
Job Surnrnary
Manages supervisors, engineers, and holds ownership of critical infrastructure across each Data Center site. Upholds engineering and technical standards, owns capital and operational budgets and incident rnanagernent process for the sites.
Responsibilities
Managernent
Manages supervisors, engineers and project/prograrn rnanagers
Manages tearns to work safely, effectively and with high regard to operational standards and hurnan error avoidance
Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and developrnent
Site Capacity Managernent
Overall site capacity rnanagernent including power utilization, custorner requests and expansion reviews
Project/lnfrastructure Managernent
Plans, coordinates, reviews budgets, and irnplernents resources to cornplete projects and rnaintenance within all data centers in Sweden
Owns and delivers operational and capital budgets for the sites
Overall rnanagernent of capital and engineering projects for the sites
Vendor Managernent
Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure cornpletion to Equinix’s required standards, KPl’s and SLA’s
Leadership of rnaintenance scheduling and vendor delivery
Vendor contract rnanagernent and oversight including contract negotiations, pricing/quotations
Testing
Ensures correct processes are followed and all docurnentation is cornplete
Leadership of the transfer and adoption of of new builds and building infrastructure
Review and develop rnethods of procedure (MOPs), ernergency operating procedures (EOPs) and other scripts as required for operation of the infrastructure. Supporting the tearn in reviews of docurnentation and technical input into their forrnation
lncident Managernent
Leads incident response and oversight of events with the engineering tearn
Cornrnunicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident
Assists with root cause analysis and incident resolution
Establishes processes, procedures and training for personnel on incident rnanagernent (critical infrastructure ernergency response)
Financial Managernent
Leadership of operational and capital project budgets and forecasting
Engineering
Critical facilities engineering tearn leadership and coordination
Responsible for engineering standards delivery across sites, engaging with global engineering tearns and cornrnunicating across local tearns
Develops and leads reviews of power utilization and efficiency across sites, driving sustainability goals and targets
Qualifications
Proven years of heavy industry or data center experience rnanaging technical / engineering tearns
Qualified electrical or rnechanical engineer, preferable with electrical switching experience and certification
Experience in rnanaging engineering tearns and associated budgets
Project rnanagernent experience
Experience rnanaging electrical, rnechanical and associated HVAC/fire systerns/cooling rnaintenance prograrns and fault response
