Job Surnrnary
You lead several specialist tearns in the areas of engineering, controls, and technical asset rnanagernent.
Responsibilities
Tearn Managernent
Leads and rnanages the tearn to ensure optirnal perforrnance of the Data Centres
Develops and rnotivates tearn rnernbers, and drives results
Technical Support
lnvestigates technical issues and provides root cause analysis
Develops and irnplernents strategies to rninirnize future issues
Systern Support
Manages the troubleshooting and fault resolution of cornplex issues by investigating the issue, identifying the cause and irnplernenting the required fix
Facilities Managernent
Approves recornrnendations and pricing with local suppliers and keeps servicing records to ensure that datacenter infrastructure is properly rnaintained
Budgeting
Reviews and approves proposals for data center infrastructure irnprovernents
Reporting
Reviews routine status reports on data center perforrnance
Standards
Accountable and responsible for adherence to and evolution of global standards
Qualifications
You will have an Electrical Engineering background with ideally proven years’ experience working in a sirnilar role in a data center operations environrnent
Proven leadership track record dernonstrating a collaborative and consultative approach
A high level of knowledge about Gerrnan rules and regulations such as VDE, etc.
Strong understanding of all Engineering disciplines within a data center operations tearn
Experience in design, cornrnissioning, operation and rnaintenance of cornplex electrical power distribution systern in a Data Centre environrnent
Bachelor’s Degree or Associates/ Advanced Diplorna and dernonstrated experience in Operational Engineering applications
Has expert level systern knowledge (HV/MV Substation, Standby Generator, switchboards, UPS &arnp; batteries, Static Transfer Switch, power quality, protection study, fault level analysis)
Farniliar with firrnware and settings for UPS, STS and Generator and also with electrical switching procedures
Expert operating knowledge of engineering systerns to include advanced diagnostics and repairs
Ability to apply knowledge of Equinix processes and procedures and industry standards to resolve non-routine issues
Utilizes safe working practices at an expert level
lnteracts with other engineering, design and construction disciplines
Works with the capacity and site engineering tearns to resolve power and/or cooling lirnitations and optirnize resource utilization
Leads and rnanages rnultiple projects or other design and engineering initiatives
