SUMMARY OF POSITION
Senior Manager, Financial Reporting is responsible for SEC and external reporting, technical research and the preparation and review of certain internal reports and analysis. The position requires contact with all disciplines within the corporation. The position is responsible for overseeing the activities of senior accountants. The skills required in this job will help position the candidate for more advanced financial reporting opportunities within Accounting or other departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
—Manage the preparation and review of SEC and other external filings, including Form 10-Q, 10-K and 8-K
—Collaborate with external auditors, legal counsel, and accounting team on technical accounting issues and SEC reporting requirements
—Review the periodic cash flow, EBITDA & FFO schedules, EPS, and other reports prepared by senior accountants
—Provide assistance with public equity, debt offerings, and property transactions
—Lead the coordination, preparation, and review of partnership and joint venture financial statements
—Review and ensure accuracy of investor relations materials
—Research and document new and relevant accounting pronouncements.
—Facilitate process improvements and efficiencies
—Manage, mentor, and develop financial reporting professionals and provide guidance to ensure the team remains current with industry standards and regulations
—Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
—Bachelor’s degree in accounting
—CPA required or in the final stages of obtaining CPA certification
—At least 5 years of relevant experience, including oversight of staff; public accounting preferred
—Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
—Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills required
—Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel
—Experience with Workday a plus
