Senior Program Manager, Global Physical Security Vendors
Job Summary
The Senior Program Manager, Global Physical Security Vendors leads security equipment and vendor strategy related to portfolio, value creation and financial strategy, and key business transformation priorities. This role supports key activities and deliverables within the multi-year strategic planning. The Senior Program Manager, Global Physical Security Vendors leads competitive intelligence and deep dive analysis into market and technology developments. The role partners closely with finance, legal, and procurement teams to ensure that security strategies align with company goals.
Collaborates with regional and cross-functional counterparts to address and resolve customer and operational issues. Plans and manages budgets, maintains infrastructure, supports customer escalations, and applies industry knowledge and best practices.
The Senior Program Manager, Global Physical Security Vendors facilitates and maintain relationships between Equinix and vendors/partners, creating standards for the vendors, and finding the best available vendors. This role cultivates and maintains relationships with vendors, representing Equinix within the security community.
Responsibilities
Finding qualified vendors: Researching and selecting vendors to meet the organization’s needs
Ensuring quality: Setting work standards and evaluating vendor performance
Managing delivery: Ensuring resources are delivered on time
Resolving issues: Keeping accurate documentation and streamlining processes
Build partnerships: vendors are a critical part of our value stream, quality relationships are key
Security catalog management: own, manage, and maintain the security catalog of equipment, manufacturers, services, and vendors
Sourcing: identify the potential source(s) of an offering, evaluating the choice(s), and choosing the best fit for your organization
Leadership responsibilities
Provides strategic guidance and direction to drive team results
Set the vision, establish direction, communicate with the team, and ensure alignment
Provide coaching and mentoring
Live the Magic of Equinix and set the example for the team
Provide support to regional teams, including working with counterparts
Communications responsibilities
Support internal and external communications. Ensure relevant stakeholders are engaged and kept informed of the progress and status of initiatives
Effectively communicate and deliver data-driven presentations, tailored to each audience
Cascade key business information to the team
Assists with root cause analysis and incident resolution of physical security systems
Budgeting/Financial Management responsibilities
Collaborate with team, Field Operations, and regional counterparts to analyze resource, system, license, supplier, project and maintenance requirements
Plan, implement, and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, meeting Equinix KPI’s and OKR’s for budget vs. actuals
Project Leadership responsibilities
Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers to support the needs of the business; holding them to the highest standards
Responsible for prioritizing, planning, tracking, managing, and measuring team output and productivity
Communicate status to key stakeholders and regional leadership
Security responsibilities
Provide security systems support for data center operations, including resolution of sophisticated issues and complex installation efforts
Respond to customer RFP’s and RFI’s
Ensure work is completed to Equinix’s standards, and meets operational KPI’s and OKR’s
Qualifications
Experience working within the security industry
Technology hardware and software functional requirement collection
Program, Project, and/or Portfolio management in a large-scale company
Experience working with category, procurement, and vendor management teams, or work in that function
Educated to degree level in physical security systems, data centers, engineering, or business management, or with equivalent work experience
5+ years’ experience in product strategy , or business development at a data center or technology company preferred
Demonstrated ability to derive insights via quantitative and qualitative analysis and formulate and test hypotheses by diving deep into the data
Strong experience managing and influencing stakeholders across different functional groups
Ability to provide thought leadership, think strategically and effectively communicate vision and influence
