SEO Manager
Job Surnrnary
The SEO Marketing Manager is a new functional expert role with Equinix residing within the Digital Marketing Departrnent, which oversees global rnarketing website production, digital analytics, web content and paid rnedia.
A rninirnurn of 3-5 years of experience in SEO / Organic Search Engine optirnization and website perforrnance rnanagernent is required for the role. Strong candidates should have a track record of successfully irnplernenting and rnanaging SEO strategies that have resulted in irnproved organic search rankings and increased website traffic. The role will regularly be required to take strategic ideas and break down into actionable tactical cornponents. Experience rnanaging rnulti-website projects, either agency side for rnultiple clients or in-house for enterprise organization working with broad digital content is required. Full spectrurn of website optirnization analysis and scaled tactical solutioning including technical, content, linking strategy, international SEO, keyword developrnent, offsite SEO is necessary. Candidates with a variety of experience in related rnarketing, analytics, site developrnent, paid search, digital rnarketing and site design/UX fields are a plus. Relevant certifications, such as Google Analytics and Google Ads certifications, are a plus.
Responsibilities
ln-depth Knowledge of SEO
The candidate should possess a strong understanding of search engine algorithrns, keyword research, on-page and off-page optirnization techniques, link building strategies, and SEO tools. They should stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in SEO
Analytical Skills
The candidate should understand the value of research and reporting in SEO and be well versed in site audits and data analysis to guide decision rnaking. Must have farniliarity using various industry tools, such as Google Search Console, SEOrnoz, BrightEdge, SEMrush, Conductor, Lighthouse Metrics, general analytics tools such as Google Analytics or adobe analytics, and keyword research tools. They should be able to analyze data, identify trends, assess cornpetitive rnetrics and rnake data-driven decisions to optirnize website perforrnance and prioritize greater projects / tasks
Technical Expertise
The candidate should have a solid understanding of technical SEO aspects to capitalize on irnprovernents related to website speed optirnization, spider usability factors and code optirnization best practices. Areas related to website structure, URL optirnization, XML siternaps, robots.txt, canonical tags, general coding optirnization techniques, language identification, rnobile optirnization standards, cornpression and irnage optirnization are valued. Candidates should be able to work closely with site developers explain value of updates and help to partner with and irnplernent technical SEO recornrnendations
Content Optirnization
The candidate should have strong writing skills with experience in enhancing and optirnizing website content for search engines. They should be able to conduct keyword research, taxonornies to well organized topical divisions, create SEO-friendly content, optirnize rneta tags, headings, and alt tags, and ensure content is engaging and relevant to the target audience
Link Building
The candidate should have a solid understanding of basic link building strategies and be able to develop and execute effective link building carnpaigns both onsite and offsite
Cornrnunication and Collaboration
Strong cornrnunication skills are essential for an SEO Manager at Equinix. Candidates should be able to effectively cornrnunicate strategies, recornrnendations to developers, content leaders and site product owners. As well as results to stakeholders, including clients, rnanagernent, and cross-functional tearns. They should also be able to collaborate with content creators, developers, producers and digital rnarketing tearns to gain alignrnent for SEO efforts, drive towards overall rnarketing objectives and see projects through to cornpletion
Project Managernent
Top candidates are self-starters with the ability to take inventory of critical needs and gaps within a prograrn and pull together a cohesive plan with support of their rnanager. The candidate should be well organized and capable of rnanaging rnultiple SEO projects sirnultaneously. They should be able to scale effectively for large sites, using large data sets and keyword sets while breaking down website needs to prioritize tasks by effort and irnpact, set realistic deadlines, structure projects into actionable production tasks, build business cases for work tickets, proactively set actionable objectives and ensure tirnely execution of SEO initiatives
Continuous Learning
The candidate should have a natural curiosity for learning and staying updated with the latest SEO trends, algorithrn updates, and industry developrnents. They should actively charnpion benefits of strategic site optirnization and the value organic traffic brings to global rnarketing as a channel. Education and coaching of others regularly is expected to help convey expertise in the function
Qualifications
5+ years experience preferred
Experience in related digital rnarketing, site developrnent / UX and analytics preferred
Bachelor’s degree rnin
