Vice President, Private AI
Reporting to Equinix’s EVP, Data Center Services, the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence is responsible for developing and implementing effective strategies to drive business growth as Equinix takes AI solutions to market. This leader will engage with customers and partners and lead the teams that will acquire key ecosystem accounts. This executive will lead a team in developing and deploying a go-to-market strategy with ecosystem prospects, customers and partners that resonates in an AI-empowered world. They will define and build the solutions roadmap and partnerships to meet emerging customer use cases.
Through deep understanding of both Equinix’s platform infrastructure and capabilities as well as those we may be partnering within the ecosystem, the VP Private AI will determine appropriate infrastructure solutioning for the environment to deliver and lead customers to understand the value of AI at Equinix. This executive will ensure a strong ongoing feedback loop to enable key product/platform requirements to support ongoing enhancements in product development and sales enablement, etc. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of innovative technologies, strong business acumen, and a proven track record of developing and implementing go-to-market strategies in complex organizations.
Responsibilities:
—Develop and drive Equinix’s AI go-to-market strategy by engaging with customers to understand their requirements for taking products and solutions to market, ensuring the appropriate sequencing of the go-to-market motions and building out the right ecosystem account engagement.
—Understand the customer needs (including enterprises and service providers) and requirements and develop a compelling story around Equinix’s value proposition for AI.
—Direct responsibility for the SKUs, customer offers and ecosystem co-engineering IP stack.
—Ability to define requirements for the rest of the data center and digital portfolio to make Private AI successful. Define and identify any new operational requirements.
—Identify opportunities that enable the growth and expansion of our AI business through strategic partnerships, alliances, and customer acquisition.
—Collaborate with product management to feedback customer requirements to inform product roadmap, define target markets, customer segments, and value propositions for AI offerings.
—Lead resources in the incubation team to develop sales enablement materials and marketing messaging, while also partnering with the broader sales and marketing teams on execution and delivery of additional sales and marketing requirements.
—Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including AI ecosystem service providers, research institutions, legal and compliance requirements, and industry experts, to stay abreast of advancements and best practices in AI.
—Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather customer insights and feedback and incorporate them into product roadmap and development plans.
—Lead the development of business cases and financial models to assess the feasibility and potential ROI of AI initiatives.
—Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive differentiators for AI at Equinix.
—Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI go-to-market initiatives, tracking key metrics and providing regular updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
—Proven experience in business development, implementation and strategic partnership building with a focus on AI technologies.
—Ability to incubate, learn, and lead the voice of the emerging business.
—Strong understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
—Familiarity with industry AI use cases a plus – e.g., drug discovery in pharma, connected vehicle, smart city/security/disaster prevention for governments, digital twin in supply chain and manufacturing, etc.
—Demonstrated ability to develop and execute AI strategies that drive business growth and create a competitive advantage.
—Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
—Experience leading an overlay organization, matrix leadership and/or leading through influence
—Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze market trends, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
—Experience in managing complex projects and cross-functional teams, with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.
—Familiarity with regulatory and ethical considerations related to AI implementation.
—Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive innovation.
The United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $231,000 to $402,000 per year
• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $228,000 to $398,000 per year
• Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $217,000 to $379,000 per year
Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
